Building on the existing NHS CHECK national cohort sample and the existing Tackling Inequalities and Discrimination Experiences in health Services (TIDES) study, a series of qualitative interviews will explore:
- How (through what processes) COVID-19 has affected mental and physical health and occupational outcomes.
- What impact has COVID-19 (both during and in the aftermath of COVID-19) had on experiences of discrimination, bullying and harassment from patient and colleagues/managers, workplace Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) processes, reporting and training support including suggestions for improvement.
- Understanding how COVID-19 has affected Black, Asian and minority ethnic staff focusing on structural factors underpinning elevated adversity and how Trust and NHS England-level responses could best mitigate adverse effects for staff, currently and in the future.
